HIGH above the hustle of George Street’s legal precinct, Public is a glass-windowed, loft-style eating oasis, combining the sophistication of the Big Apple with the warmth of our own city, for a truly innovative and engaging dining experience.
Public presents a contemporary menu of share plates, seamlessly integrating some restaurant-regular elements with a few to raise the eyebrows. Black ants, fossilised carrots and emu tartare feature in their current spread, flawlessly combining the ideals of casual eating with the cuisine and finesse seen in fine dining. The food has been described as a fusion; however this term doesn’t quite cover the luxuriously rustic, yet culturally diverse selections on offer. It is quite clear that the food is designed to tantalise a palate for modern flavour combinations, whilst paying homage to organic, earthy ingredients, and Public have done so with the tip of a hat – awarded to them by the Good Food Guide 2014. The menu is suited to the laid-back dinner, romantic feast or long lunch between work hours or you can observe the buzz of the city while sipping on a boozy beverage at Public’s bar.
Bursting on to the dining scene in 2012, Public continues to be a Brisbane favourite, impressing diners with their high-quality menu and sociable atmosphere.
